DesJarlais, 804/441-6580 Contractor to provide manual observations program to include services to take, disseminate and record surface observations to include record, special, local, record specials, and synoptic observations. Services also include preventative maintenance of equipment, administrative and climatic duties. After ASOS is commissioned, services to augment and backup the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS), disseminate and record backup observations as required and perform preventative maintenance of equipment, to carry out administrative duties and climatic duties as required at the following sites: Beaver, WV; New Castle, DE; North Syracuse, NY; Columbus, OH; North Canton, OH; Youngstown, OH; Concord, NH; Williamsport, PA; Allentown, PA; Richmond, VA; Roanoke, VA; Windsor Locks, CT; Warwick, RI; Wilkes-Barre, PA and Elkins, WV. Contractor shall provide certified weather observers. Throughout the life of the contract, the contractor may be required to cover one eight (8) hour shift, progressing to two eight (8) hour shifts and possibly three eight (8) hour shifts.Contract period will be from August 1, 1995 to September 30, 1995, with options to extend for two additional years. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. All responsible small business sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. All solicitation requests must be in writing.
