Point: Rebecca A. Holzinger, Contracting Officer, 309-681-6615.
USDA-ARS-MWA in Madison, WI has a requirement for one Residual Gas
Analyzer System. Analyzermust have 1-200 AMU mass range; Faraday cup
and electron multiplier detector; single thoriated iridium filament or
comparable quality filament; open ion source; minimum detectable
partial pressure: 5 x 10-14 torr; will operate at room temperature up
to 35 degrees C; bakeout temperature greater than 250 degrees C;
controlled by IBM PC-compatible computer via interface card or RS-232
serial port; at least one relay or digital outputs capable of running
a relay for control of a solenoid based on gas composition; and routine
maintenance and filament replacement performable by user. Inlet system
for the RGA must have mobile frame or cart for RGA, vacuum pumps,
inlet; turbomolecular pump, minimum 50 liters/sec; at least one
mechanical (rotary vane) vacuum pump with a minimum total capacity of
1.0 cfm and with exhaust mist eliminator and auto vent valve; RGA
chamber with ports for associated pumps, inlet, RGA; inlet with minimum
of 4 capillary lines for sampling at atmospheric pressures with manual
switching; power supplies as needed for the RGA and pumps; complete
set of fasteners and gaskets for system. Software for RGA control must
be MS-DOS 6.0 compatible; capable of monitoring a minimum of 8 gases
with time; capable of setting alarms and triggering a relay for high or
low levels of a particular gas; has a library of common gases;
spectrums from library can be compared to collected spectrums; add
gases to library; either software or hardware safeguards which shut off
RGA filament current when high pressures are encountered; capable of
outputting data to files that can be imported into Lotus 1-2-3 o
compatible; and have PC based spreadsheets. Potential bidders shall
submit written request for RFP 9-5114-95 either by mail or by FAX (309)
