The instrument is a sensitive laboratory susceptibility meter capable of measuring the bulk magnetic susceptibility of geologic materials at ambient temperature and at elevated temperatures (to ) 700 degree C) and of measuring the anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility. The instrument shall accommodate samples formed as cubes (2 x 2 x 2 cm) and as cylinders (2.54 cm in diameter and 2.2 cm in length).
