Construction of facilities and equipment (F&E) shops and relocation of
spiracone antenna, Fort Worth, Texas. Estimated price range is between
$500,000 and $1,000,000. The work includes the removal of existing
foundations, modifications of and extensions of utilities, site
preparation and foundation for spiracone antenna; construction of an
85' by 125' building with drilled pier supported rigid frames, metal
wall/siding system and concrete floor; sanitary system for toilets,
compressed air system, vacuum system, and all related piping; all work
associated with electrical, HVAC and plumbing to and within the F&E
shops facility; installation of concrete encased duct bank;
installation of facility grounds; and the construction and installation
of all appurtenances to the foregoing. The proposed procurement is
unrestricted regarding business size. The BOD is an approximate date
only. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this procurement

ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
