COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 8,1995 PSA#1341Goddard Space Flight Center, Code 242, Greenbelt, MD 20771 43 -- PROVIDE AND INSTALL 400 CFM AIR COMPRESSOR SOL RFP5-01150/119
POC Rex T. Elliott, Contracting Officer (301) 286-6204. NASA/Goddard
Space Flight Center intends to enter into a sole source contract with
Carey Air Center of Baltimore, Maryland for a 400 CFM Air Compressor to
be used as a backup unit for the air compression requirements of
several buildings at the Goddard Space Flight Center, including the
Building 29 spacecraft clean room. This acquisition will be done
pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)-ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE SOURCE. The work
requirement involves providing a new air compressor, removing the old
unit and installing the new one, installing a programmable controller
based device (sequencer unit) to coordinate the operation of the basic
unit with this backup unit, and testing of the system. Because the
backup unit must function identically to the primary unit (which is a
Carey 400 CFM Compressor), no other provider of air compressors has the
capability to meet these requirements. All responsible sources may
respond to this synopsis by submitting a written statement of their
capabilties, including technical literature demonstrating their ability
to meet this requirement. Responses must be submitted within 15 days of
this notice to the contracting officer for this procurement. NASA will
determine if any offerors other than Carey Air Center have a
reasonable chance of meeting the requirements for this procurement. All
such responses will be fully considered. See Numbered Note(s): 22.
