intends to procure Engineering and Manufacturing Development (E&MD) of
the AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) Unitary Variant with an
option for Limited Rate Initial Production (LRIP) of Unitary Variant
All Up Rounds (AUR). The Unitary Variant incorporates a data link,
seeker, and unitary warhead into the existing JSOW baseline airframe.
E&MD efforts including engineering, testing, integration, and
management will be conducted while maintaining maximum feasible
commonality with the JSOW Baseline vehicle. Up to 15 JSOW Unitary test
vehicles will be procured for use in operational testing. The contract
will also provide for options for an LRIP quantity of 50 AURs, limited
license rights for the Unitary seeker, Special Tooling (ST), Special
Test Equipment (STE), and a Technical Data Package (TDP). The
Government intends to award contract N00019-95-C-0120 on a sole source
basis to Texas Instruments Inc., Defense Systems & Electronics Group,
2501 South Highway 121, P.O. Box 405 M/S 3442, Lewisville, Texas
75067. TI, DSEG, as the sole developer and manufacturer of the AGM-154A
system and all associated test equipment, is the only contractor with
the requisite capabilities and specialized knowledge to provide the
required supplies in accordance with established delivery requirements.
