Base provides for rehabilitation and automation of the controls for the Chamber A lunar plane heaters and the Vacuum Roughing Pumping System for Chambers A and B in the Space Environment Simulation Laboratory, Building 32. The equipment used for automating these systems shall be fully compatible with the existing distributed control system in Building 32. A manual backup system is also required to be used in parallel with new automated systems for redundant operation. The project also provides for the programming of the distributed control system software, including developing control schemes and operator interface graphics, to automate the above mentioned systems. Additive #1 provides for adding a new operator console in Chamber A Control Room. This console will provide access in Chamber A Control Room to the distributed control sytstem. Additive #2 provides for adding a computer adapter unit in Chamber B Control Room. This unit will allow the distributed control system to communicate with another computer system Period of performance is 420 calendar days. Estimated cost is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
