The Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (CDNSWC) has a requirement to retain a high-reliability connection to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Internet. Connectivity service shall be provided from the CDNSWC Bethesda, MD site to the NSF Internet and shall include the following characteristics: a 1.544 Mbps (T-1) dedicated circuit; 99.9% availability; ethernet interface at CDNSWC site; provide routing advertisements to the Internet for CDNSWC's networks; one-hop distance from the nearest Federal Internet Exchange (FIX); provide Secondary Domain Name Service (DNS) and Internet News Feeds (Usenet News); and Internet router and any ancillary communications equipment; hight-speed service (up to 45 Mbps). The contractor shall have the ability to provide user support for internet application on a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week basis. It is anticipated that the contract shall be a firm fixed price service contract. Performance period to be from date of award though one year, with two option years.
