The purpose of this program is to provide Post-Doctoral students and engineers of unusual promise and ability opportunities for research on problems that are compatible with the interests of ARL. This procurement is sole source to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), 2101 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20418. This procurement is sole source to NAS as NAS is uniquely qualified to assemble committees and boards of the nation's most eminent scholars. NAS is a non-profit organization that was chartered by the Government to conduct studies in the field of science. Thus, NAS is a society dedicated to the furtherance of science. NAS is the only organization with sufficient scientific status that leading U.S. and foreign scientists would seek to become affiliated as research associates under its name.
