(202) 366-9557 The objectives of this procurement are to: (1) Describe
the cognitive and perceptual functioning of youth, with particular
attention to developmental factors as they apply to traffic safety
issues. (2) Determine how to match safety information (content and
format) to cognitive and perceptual functioning of youth. Attainment of
these objectives shall require expertise among project staff in the
areas of cognitive psychology, educational psychology, and human
development with emphasis on children and youth. Project staff also
shall have sufficient knowledge of driver education practices and
issues, as well as other highway safety activity directed at youth, to
identify the implications of youths' cognitive and perceptual
functioning for highway safety programs. The proposed contract will be
awarded with a period of performance of sixteen (16) months on a cost
reimbursable basis. The solicitation will be mailed to those
organizations responding in writing to this announcement. Written
request for this solicitation must be accompanied by two (2)
self-addressed mailing labels. The anticipated issue date of the
