National Transportation Systems Center desires to acquire global
satellite communications services for use of mobile to base, mobile to
mobile, and base to mobile for the U.S. Department of Transportaton
INTRANSIT teams operating around the world. The satellite company
providing these services must utilize coast earth stations located in
CONUS or directly linked to its facilities in the United States. The
services required are: telephone, telex, data and facsimilie, via
Standard C, Standard M, Aero-C, Standard A and Standard B. The main
requirement is to have worldwide coverage and close to real time
response for all services except for telephone. Responses must be
received within fifteen days from the date of this publication.
Interested parties must submit a detailed qualification package showing
how they will provide the required services. For Minority, Women-Owned
and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Business and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
