R -- SURFACE/AVIATION WEATHER OBSERVTIONS AND RELATED SERVICES, NWS OFFICE, HUNT FIELD, LANDER, WYOMING SOL 51WCNW506072MW DUE 062795 POC Mamie Wandick (816) 426-6823 extension 237 The National Weather Service plans to issue a solicitation to perform surface/aviation weather observations and related services at the National Weather Service (NWS) Office, Hunt Field, Lander, Wyoming. The Contractor will be required to provide NWS certified weather observers to take, document, and disseminate surface and aviation weather data on a continuous basis, 24 hours daily, seven (7) days a week. The observer program consists of weather and climate observations via the Microcomputer Aided Paperless Surface Observations (MAPSO). At some time during the term of this contract, the obervations may become automated. At that time the work to be performed shall change to the augmentation and back-up of the Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS). The backup program consists of evaluating and reporting data normally evaluated and reported by ASOS. The anticipated base period of performance is August 1, 1995 through Spetember 30, 1995. The contract will contain options to extend performance for two consecutive 12-month periods. The total duration of the contract shall not exceed twenty-six months.
