Bohacs, LSO-360, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32815. Lockheed Space
Operations Company (LSOC), a NASA Prime Contractor at Kennedy Space
Center (KSC), FL, seeks sources capable of providing the following
requirements: design, fabrication, assembly, cleaning, painting,
testing, and delivery to KSC of two (2) Mini-Portable Purge Units
(MPPU). One unit is to be delivered this fiscal year (FY-95) and one
unit to be delivered in FY-97. In addition, LSOC requires an option for
two (2) additional units to be delivered in FY-98. LSOC will provide
the concept drawing and the successful offeror shall provide the
assembly/construction drawings. Each MPPU shall have four (4)
fifteen-ton staged direct expansion scroll compressors. The blower will
deliver 300 lbs. per minute dry air at 4 PSIG. The heat of compression
will be removed by two (2) absorption heat pipe assemblies located
upstream of the cooling coil and discharging to atmosphere through two
(2) rejection heat pipes. The supply air shall pass through the
compressor cooling coil, a wrap-around heat pipe, carbon filter and
HEPA filter into a plenum. Three delivery ducts exiting the plenum
shall have a heater, flow measuring device and a control valve. The
electrical cabinet shall contain the Program Logic Controller (PLC).
LSOC will provide the software. Facility requirements shall be an
enclosed structure, preferably temperature controlled atmosphere with
a Class 100,000 assembly area. The anticipated period of performance
will be 30 days after award for completion of drawings and 120 days
after approval of assembly/construction drawings for delivery of the
first unit. It will be the responsibility of the successful offeror to
provide all necessary supervision, labor, tools, facilitis, equipment
and security required for successful completion of this project. A
property management system adequate for preotection of Government
property is required. Interested firms should submit, in duplicate, a
statement of capabilites in sufficient detail to establish bona fide
capability to meet the technical requirements set forth herein.
Requirements are experience and expertise in precision fabrication,
welding, sheet metal works, tube bending, refrigeration, assembly,
electrical power and controls installation and industrial type
PLC/computer installation. Indications of interest and capabililties
