Stroud, GP26H/Contracting Officer, 205-544-0329 This notice constitutes a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Item 1 - Powder Feeder for Vacuum Plasma Spray Chamber, Powder Feeder Dynamics Inc. part number XV/RD or equal as follows: Must be compatible with existing thermal spray equipment (Low Pressure Plasma Spray system manufactured by Electro Plasma Inc., now Sultzer-Metco) -- Feed mechanism (carousel, screw, rotor, etc.) must be controlled via closed loop control system, and be controlled to within 0.05% of set point -- Preset and adjustment of feed rate mechanism to be operator controlled and displayed on unit -- Include system for operator to purge powder lines of powder after termination of feed -- Capacity of at least 4.1 liters of powder -- Capable of feeding materials ranging in density from 3.3 g/ml to 16.5 g/ml -- Feeder to be incorporated into a cabinet with castors -- Display weight of powder in canister, up to 25 kg at 0.1 gram resolution, updated at two second intervals (or faster) -- Display of powder feed rate in g/min or lbs/hr -- Unit weight not to exceed 215 lbs -- Qty 4 ea -- Item 2 - Operation and Service Manual, schematics and drawings, and recommended spareparts list -- Qty 2 ea -- This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) -- If other than the brand name identified is offered, then the offeror shall indicate the manufacturer, brand, and model/part number offered and provide a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the brand name identified -- If the end product(s) offered is other than domestic end product(s) as defined in the clause entitled ''Buy American Act -- Supplies,'' the offeror shall so state and shall list the country of origin -- The offeror shall state in their offer their size status for this procurement -- The SIC code and the size standard for this procurement are 3569, 500 respectively -- Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing -- Transmission by facsimile to 205-544-9080 or by Internet e-mail to sherri.stroud@msfc.nasa.gov is acceptable -- Quotations are due 30 days after publication of this notice in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) to the address specified in Item 7 above to the attention of Sherri Stroud/GP26H -- Selection and award will be made on an aggregate basis to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror -- Technical acceptability will be determined by information submitted by the offeror providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the Government's requirement -- The period of time expected for the Contracting Officer to solicit/evaluate vendor quotes and issue the purchase order will be approximately 45 days from publication of this notice in the CBD -- This procurement is a total small business set-aside.
