Y -- DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION OF LIQUID NITROGEN (LN2) STORAGE TANK & SYSTEM SOL 1-036-GGJ.1102 DUE 063095 POC Bid Distribution Office,(804)864-2547. The work to be performed consists of design and constructing of a 900,000 gallon liquid nitrogen (LN2) storage tank & associated piping systems at the National Transonic Facility (NTF), Building 1236, 5 West Taylor Street, West Area, of the Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia. The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to designing, furnishing and installing the following: - LN2 storage tank, 900,000 gallon, including annulus purge system and ullage space pressure control system - Extension of the existing LN2 supply line to new tank - Connection of new tank to existing tank including transfer piping system consisting of pumps, valves, instrumentation and controls - Routing of new tank normal vent valve piping to discharge the gas at elevation of the top of the existing tunnel vent stack - Extension of all required utilities: electrical service and instrument air - Piles, foundations and supports - LN2 spill containment berm/dike - An electrical power supply with substation yard, raceway system, primary power cable system, and a 2400 volt delta primary to 480/277 volt wye secondary, 750 kVA unit substation. The substation shall include a primary load break fused switch section, a transforming section, and a secondary switchgear section. - Motor control center for control of pumps and auxiliary devices - Power and controls for an LN2 vaporizer - Remote control panel, control devices, and interconnecting control cable to permit control of the LN2 tank and vaporizer system from the control room of the NTF - Area lighting - Lightning Protection System - Design progress reviews at 30 and 90 percent of design effort. Contract duration if 670 calendar days. Estimated cost range between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency.
