70 -- SPERRY 5000 MINI COMPUTER UPGRADE SOL DAHA51-95-R-0003 DUE 052695 POC Point of Contact is Harry D. Fox (907) 428-6186 It is the intent of the Alaska Army National Guard (ARNG) to procure Three I/O Enhancement (IOX) SCSI-II Interface Boards, Three 2GB SCSI-II disk IOX Upgrade, Three 4mm DAT Tape drive, DDS-2 with data compression and SCSI interface, Three IOX Disk Software upgrade, and Three IOX Tape software upgrade on a sole source basis from Marriock Inc. The above will be installed and integrated within an existing Sperry 5000 system. Marriock Inc. is the inventor of the upgrade components and the sole manufacturer, the components have unique features only pertinent to a Sperry 5000 Mini Computer. The ARNG's existing Sperry 5000 system is experiencing increased use. This increased requirement for both system use and storage exceeds the system's present capability. Marriock boards are proprietary and the Government does not have the authority to provide drawings or interface documents to allow another firm to manufacture like boards. Since Marriock products are proprietary it is anticipated that no other firms are available to supply these items. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis by submitting a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information and other technical literature, demonstrating the ability to meet the requirement.
