This synopsis is published pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.205, and is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. NOTE: There is no additional information available for release at this time. Verbal request for information will not be provided. The Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Annapolis Detachment is seeking sources within industry for environmentally acceptable enzymatic and/or biological cleaning compounds. Products must be suitable for use in a shipboard environment and must not contain any pathogens or any substance considered hazardous by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. If the proposed product contains micro organisms to enhance degradation, these must be naturally occurring (genetically engineered organisms are not acceptable). Potential suppliers are requested to supply trade names, technical specifications, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs), and document the products' environmental, safety and health attributes. In addition, potential suppliers may wish to include case studies including analystical data which support claims made as to the efficacy of the product. The cost of the product and the cost for cleaning a 1,000 gallon tank containing a petroleum-based product is also required. Responses to this synopsis are requested within 21 days from date of publication of this synopsis. This synopsis is for information purposes only in order to identify potential suppliers. It does not constitute an RFP and does not obligate the Government in any way to purchase any of the products offered.
