F -- DRILLING WATER EXPLORATION BOREHOLE, HAVASUPAI RESERVATION, ARIZONA SOL 1425-5-SI-30-11700 POC Contact Ms. Caryn Rotheim, Procurement Technician, 702-293-8588; Synopsis No. 95-17 The work to be performed under this solicitation is the drilling of a groundwater explorationhole and possible casing installation and test pumping. The drilling site is in the Bar Four area ofthe Havasupai Reservation, Arizona, located near the rim of the Grand Canyon and approximately113 miles northeast of Kingman, Arizona. Access to the drilling site, one to two miles east ofHighway 18, is an unimproved dirt road. The principal work items to be performed include thefollowing: (1) Drill, with air, a hole of sufficient diameter to accomodate 7-inch oilfield casing to adepth of 3,000 feet; (2) Run the following logs: caliper, resistivity (short and long normal), 6-footlateral, self-potential; and (3) Cap surface casing and demobilize. The following options may beexercised after the caliper and electric logging: (1) Run natural gamma, gamma gamma, andneutron gamma logs; (2) Furnish and install 3,000 feet of 7-inch steel casing (open hole belowbottom of casing); (3) Provide and install a pump, airline, and discharge pipe, and run stepdrawdown and constant discharge pumping tests (expected depth to water is 2,500 to 3,000 feet);and (4) Move to the other Bar Four area drill site, drill and geophysically log another borehole,with air, to a depth of 3,000 feet. The option to run a temperature log may be exercised. If so,the Contractor will install government-provided small diameter pipe and standby while thegovernment runs the log. The estimated cost range of this project is $250,001 to $500,000. Theperformance time for completion of this project is 50 calendar days. The presolicitation notice(SF-1417) for this project is currently available. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation isMay 19, 1995. The estimated date for receipt of bids is June 23, 1995.
