Estimated price range of the work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000--Copies of solicitation provided on receipt of $35.00 each, nonrefundable. The principal components of the work to be performed under these specifications include: general sitework including clearing and grubbing removing existing riprap and miscellaneous concrete and wood structures, piping including appurtenances and CMP culvert; removing and relocating existing fence and furnishing and installing new fencing; seeding; site and structural earthwork including excavation and backfill for the Division Point and North Check structures and wasteways, three road crossings, a control building, an animal escape/check, animal escape ramps, cattleguards, and farm turnouts; canal excavation and embankments for the realignment and resizing of the existing North Branch Furnish Canal including berm and O&M road along and across the canal; furnishing and placing gravel surfacing for roads including soil-applied herbicide; furnishing and placing cast-in-place reinforced concrete for the Division Point and North Check structures, farm turnout structures, roadway crossings, control building slab and foundation, and transporter slab; furnishing and placing pre-cast reinforced box culvert; furnishing and placing animal bridges; and furnishing and placing reinforced and unreinforced canal lining and animal escape/check and ramps; metalwork to include furnishing and installing handrails, beam guardrails, trashracks, cattleguards, ladders, grab bars, gratings, frames, covers, and other miscellaneous metalwork items; the construction of floatwells including water level controls; the construction of a control building consisting of reinforced concrete unit masonry walls, wood roof framing, metal roof, sheetrock ceiling, and steel door; mechanical work to include furnishing and installing cast iron slide gates, hinged weir gates, transporter and trashrake system, flowmeters, cabinet unit heater, and air conditioner; electrical work to include furnishing and installing grounding, conduit, and cable systems, electrical equipment including circuit breaker panelboard, gate and water level control boards, manual transfer switch, an emergency generator receptacle, and luminaires and wiring for lighting system. A portion of our requirement is for furnishing and installing an Atlas Polar Trashrake system. Atlas Polar is the only known manufacturer for the required automatic trashrake system. A market survey was conducted by the contracting office via a sources sought synopsis published on March 22, 1994. No response was received in response to the CBD announcement. (0129)
