Murray, Contracting Officer, (703) 602-7900. The Naval Sea Systems
Command will contract with Hughes' Naval and Maritime Systems Division
for the integration of the PHALANX CIWS, RAM missile system, SPS-49
radar, SLQ-32 electronic warfare suite and other shipboard equipment to
provide LSD Class ships with Quick Reaction Combat Capability (QRCC).
One ship set of MK-1 Ship Self Defense System equipment and three
engineering development models will be required. Raytheon's Equipment
Division will be a major subcontractor. Significant hardware will be
the major subcontractor. Significant hardware will be the UYQ-70
consoles provided as Government Furnished Material by UNISYS, the
original equipment manufacturer. Engineering work to integrate ACDS
Block 1, TAS MK-23 Radar and NATO Seasparrow in LHD Class ships, for
which Hughes and Raytheon are design agents, will also be required.
Solicitation will be issued to Hughes Naval and Maritime Systems of San
