Officer, (619) 939-4276. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division,
China Lake, CA., intends to enter into negotiations on an
other-than-full-and-open competition basis with Aerojet Corporation,
Cordova, CA. for twenty Aerojet Part Number l208982 hybrid rocket motor
cases, twelve jet reaction control devices and associated
electromechanical actuation (EMA) sections, data, testing, and
technical support. The equipment purchased will be used to support the
FY96 Advanced Missile Airframe Advanced Technology Demonstration
(ATD). Aerojet is the only hybrid rocket motor case technology which
has demonstrated the capability to meet the missile airframe weight and
structural requirements for the ATD. Also, the Aerojet jet reaction
control device demonstrates a unique and innovative concept which
permits the device to meet the missile performance, weight, and volume
requirements. The JRC device and associated EMA section are required
to provide a desired maximum of 350.0 lb (420.0 lb. absolute maximum)
lateral divert thrust per missile quadrant and a maximum 800.0 inch-lb
roll control for 2.0 seconds, and canard aerofin control for 60
seconds. The maximum weight for the JRC device and EMA section is 26.0
lb. The maximum length for the JRC device and EMA section is l4.0
inches. The maximum diameter for the JRC device and EMA section is 6.0
inches. The purpose of ATDs is to demonstrate existing technology -
not develop new technology. Interested sources, other than Aerojet,
