58 -- PURCHASE OF HIGH POWER VHF/UHF TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER SYSTEMS Sol. DTFA07-95-R-0006. Due 071495. Contact, Janice M. Wheeler, 817/222-4333. Purchase Very High Frequency (VHF) Amplitude Modulation (AM) transmitter/receiver systems, and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) AM transmitter/receiver systems for use with air/ground radio communication between Air Traffic Control (ATC) and private, commercial, and military aircraft. The equipment shall be state-of-the-art, self contained, equipment, operating on a single frequency within the range of 118.0-137.0 Mhz for VHF and 225.0-399.975 Mhz for UHF with 25 KHz channel spacing capability. This equipment will interface with voice frerquency signaling and control equipment currently used in the National Airspace System. Training and Maintenance will also be required. The solicitation will be a Two-Step procurement. Package will be availble approximately May 29, 1995 Sic code for this procurement is 3663. For Minority, Woman-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enteprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligibile prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
