National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires an
upgrade for an Instron Model 1125 testing machine and supporting
accessories. The upgrade must provide active control to prevent
excessive load on a test specimen prior to testing and provide separate
test control and safety limits. Provide automatic recognition and
calibration of transducers and automatic user selectable data
acquisition modes. The upgrade must also provide user specification of
three independent channel/value combinations to trigger data sampling.
Provide online help and documentation including online hypertext and
hypergraphics. Provide a printable log of service use and history.
Provide a pneumatic grip control for automatic start and release.
Provide a test control panel for: start, stop, return, jog, and
specimen protection having not less than two programmable keys for
load/strain balance. Provide Microsoft windows graphical user interface
software with user changeable data report capabilities. Provide also
four (4) live numerical data displays with selectable engineering
units. Provide changeable display variables during test such as load,
stress, strain, extension, time, cycle, count. Provide four (4)
selectable analog and numerical displays. Provide input and output in
s.i., metric, U.S., and mixed. Provide cycle testing between extension,
load, and strain points. Provide xhead speed and accuracy better than
0.1 percent of set speed. Provide load weighing accuracy better than
0.005 percent of full scale. Provide 32 bit floating point data.
Provide 500 HZ internal error, limits, and event checking. Provide 500
HZ digital control loop. Provide ac transducer excitation. Provide
unlimited data points for test. Provide unlimited number of test
methods. Provide emergency stop button. Provide automatic overrange
protection. Provide dual level mechanical frame limits. Provide on
board self diagnostics. Provide remote modem support. Provide external
controller status display. Provide warranty and training at time of
installation as well as regularly scheduled classes. Delivery is
required within 60 calendar days after award of the contract, FOB
Destination, Gaithersburg, MD. All responsible sources may submit a
