Ladson/Msg/Pka/513-257-5988 Engineering Data Computer Assisted Retrieval System (EDCARS) Software Maintenance Requirement. The U.S. Air Force intends to solicit AT&T Federal Systems Business Unit Guilford Center, P.O. Box 20046, Greensboro NC 27420-0046 to plan, schedule, document, and provide software leases, maintenance and integration necessary to sustain the EDCARS software operational capability until its migration to the Joint Engineering Data Management Information Control System (JEDMICS). The contractor shall provide software maintenance at host sites: McClellan Air Force Base (AFB) CA; Tinker AFB OK; Hill AFB UT; Kelly AFB TX; and Robins AFB GA. AT&T is the only known vendor with full access to and knowledge of EDCARS software and hardware. System software to be maintained is as follows: Merge Plus, Central Index, PMRT Enhancement, Weapon System Code Enhancement, Remote Site Installations, Automatic Distribution, and Limited Rights Army Modification. EDCARS makes use of laser scanners, optical disk storage units, laser output recorders, hardcopy scanners, large-scale electrostatic plotters, and graphic displays with revisory capabilities. Most of the equipment is one-of-a-kind and involves AT&T proprietary software tailored to meet the requirements of the hardware components. The period of performance shall be from contract award through 30 Sep 96 and four quarterly options through 30 Sep 97. Note 22. The approximate issue/response date will be 05 Jun 95.
