Contracting Officer, (303)361-8012. Contractor shall provide laundry
and linen service for Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. Specific services
are as follows: 1) Hospital linen services, to include furnishing linen
(leasing linen to the Government), picking up and cleaning soiled
linen, delivering clean linen, and maintaining a two day linen
inventory level at the Fitzsimons Linen Depot. Examples of hospital
linen include laundry bags, bed linens, bath linens, hospital pajamas,
gowns and robes, cubicle curtains, and physicians' coats. 2)
Organizational linen services, to include receiving GOVERNMENT-OWNED
linen at the Linen Depot, counting linen and assigning it to lots,
cleaning and ironing linen and returning processed Government-owned
linen to the Linen Depot. Examples of organizational linen items are
clothing (uniform) items, bed linens and bath linens from non-hospital
activities such as the Fitzsimons Visiting Officers' Quarters.
Contract shall consist of a one year base period from Oct. 1, 1995
through Sept. 30, 1996 and two one year option periods. Estimated
pounds of linen to be furnished/and or serviced are as follows. Base
period: Hospital linen, 795,444 lbs; organizational linen, 205,620 lbs.
First option period: Hospital linen, 200,000 lbs.; organizational
linen, 100,000 lbs. Second option period: Hospital linen, 75,000 lbs.;
organizational linen, 60,000 lbs. Fitzsimons Army Medical Center has
been nominated for closure under the Base Realignment and Closure
(BRAC) process. The estimated workloads shown above were prepared in
the expectation that the closure of Fitzsimons under BRAC will be
confirmed in Oct. 1995 and that the linen workload will decrease during
the first and second option periods as the base closure is gradually
implemented. This acquisition is unrestricted. Requests for
solicitations may be faxed to Laura Morris at (303)361-4028. Requesters
must specify whether they are large or small businesses (for
statistical purposes only). The applicable SIC code is 7211 and size
standard for a small business is $10.5 million or less average annual
gross revenues, last three fiscal years. All responsible sources may
submit an offer which will be considered by the Agency. All requests
