S -- SOURCES SOUGHT FOR BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND FOOD SERVICES FOR ANTARCTIC OPERATIONS Contact Point, Kurt E. Fidino. Antarctic Support Associates (ASA) under contract with the National Science Foundation is seeking sources interested in providing janitorial, laundry, hairdressing and food services in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) during the austral summer and winter at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. This announcement replaces the announcement released on 5 April 1995 for janitorial, laundry, and hairdressing services for Antarctic operations. The janitorial services shall be performed in approximately 48 buildings at McMurdo Station, Antarctica and shall include the following custodial duties: (1) Sweeping, mopping and scrubbing floors; (2) Cleaning lavatories; (3) Cleaning walls, ceilings, woodwork, partitions, and light fixtures; (4) Dusting; (5) Cleaning laboratories with certain restrictions; (6) Cleaning lounges, conference rooms, and break rooms; (7) Stocking linens; (8) Removing and sorting trash. Laundry, hairdressing, and food services shall be performed in one building at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Food services shall be provided for a population of approximately 1,000 personnel during the austral summer, and approximately 250 personnel during the austral winter.
