Z -- REMOVE AND REPLACE CRANE/HOIST SYSTEM TO INCLUDE RAILINGS SOL F41685-95-R0061 DUE 062995 POC Contact Ms. B.J. Yowell, Contract Specialist, via fax number (210) 298-4178 Work includes, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and transportation necessary to replace exisiting overhead bridge crane and half ton remote controlled hoist system including all steel tracks, in accordance with theplans and specifications, in the NDI Lab, Building 52, Laughlin AFBTX. The Contractor shall be required to: (a) Accomplish all work required toremove the existing system. (b) Install a completely new crane/hoist system and railing equal to the existing system. (c) Provide a two speed motor foroperating crane. (d) Provide cover with lock at Overhead Assembly Switch. (e)With proposal, the contractor shall submit operation, maintenance, and parts manuals including as-built drawings which depict proposed installation. Existingaccordion stabilizer shall be reused with the new crane/hoist system. The existing system consists of a half-tn hoist, Model E, 1/2 ton capacity, 8 FPM speed, 1/4 H.P, 4.6 Amps, 110,120 V. power supply, Serial #L-4999L. (Manufacturered by Chisulm-Moore Hoists, Columbus McKinnon Corporation, Tonawands, N.Y.) The hoist includes a 25 ft chain with chain canister. Two electrical motors with cableretracting reels. Steel shafts, steel gears and steel beam tracks. One accordion-type hoist stabilizer. Installation must be accomplished in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, National Electrical Code, and Structual Welding code, bypersonnel normally engaged in this type of work and having a minimum of five years trade experience. This action is being considered for 100% set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify our office,in writing, of their intention to bid on the project as a prime contractor as early as possible but no later than 15 calendar days of this notice. This notification must include a positive statement of elegibility as a small socially and economicallydisadvantaged business concern, eidence of capacity to obtain required bonds, and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this complexity and magnitude. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, thesolicitation will be issued for full and open competition, for both small and large businesses, without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from All business concerns as well as from SDB concerns.
