The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for a ultra high vacuum (UHV) compatible electron gun and control electronics. Specifications include; 2 lens electrostatically focused electron column, variable beam defining aperture, and thermal field emission cathode. Deliver at least 100 nanoAmperes at 3 kilovolts and 25 millimeters working distance with beam edge profile (10% - 90%) less than 100 nanometers. Deliver at least 25 nanoAmperes at 10 kilovolts and 25 millimeters working distance with beam edge profile (10% - 90%) less than 40 nanometers. Deliver at least 1 nanoAmperes at 25 kilovolts and 25 millimeters working distance with beam edge profile (10% - 90%) less than 10 nanometers. The electronics must allow for manually controlled beam voltage, deflection raster, beam blanking, 360 degree beam rotation, x-y image shift, stigmation, and computer control connections for deflection.
