U - The U.S. Department of Education seeks to procure a contractor to operate the Higher Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention. The Center's mission is to combat drug use and abuse and the consequences associated with it in American colleges and universities through the use of prevention strategies. Center activities will include providing training and technical assistance on alcohol and other drug use and prevention IHEs; developing and distributing information materials; providing support for the Network of Colleges and Universities Committed to the Elimination of Drug and Alcohol Abuse; and conducting evaluation and assessment activities. RFP-95-034 will be issued on or about May 28, 1995. It is anticipated that the closing date for receipt will be on June 29, 1995. Telephone requests should be place by calling (202) 708-6498. Written requests should be sent to the above address given above. Copies may be picked up after the date of release. Because of tightened security, offerors can not enter our building on their own. To pick up a copy ot the RFP or to drop off proposals, offerors shall go to the 7th Street exit an dhave the guard call the application Control Center at (202) 708-8493 and ask for LaTonya Simpson, Shanette Green or Joyce Mays to sign the offerors in, in order to deliver the proposals to ACC. Therefore, offerors should allot time for the ACC person to come down stairs and escort the offerors back upstairs. The proposal will be stamped with the time and date of arrival once it arrives in ACC. (0131)
