COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 16,1995 PSA#1347Warner Robins ALC, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business

GA 31096-1600, Attn: Vivian McGhee (95M21) 42 -- CHEMICAL WARFARE GAS MASK TESTER Contact Vivian McGhee, Source
Development Analyst, Robins AFB, GA 31098-1600, 912-926-7073. This is
NOT a presolicitation notice to FAR Par 5, but a Market Survey to
identify sources for a Chemical Warfare Gas Mask Tester. We are seeking
a NONDEVELOPMENTAL ITEM (NDI) that can test the MCU-2A/P gas mask in
the negative pressure mode with an appropriate submicron aerosol
challenge; and provide an indication of protection factor (PF) for the
mask under test with a lower limit of at least PF=10,000 with an
audible alarm if mask does not meet PF as specified. The tester must be
self calibrating. It should also provide a method of ``probing''
different areas on the mask to identify leak paths. The tester must be
portable in nature and have the ability to be ready for operation
within 15 minutes. It must also be operable within temperature extremes
outside of standard room temperature and must be ``user friendly'' with
minimum operational training. The surety test for each mask should be
able to be accomplished within 2 minutes. Currently, we are interested
in purchasing a small initial quantity of three (3) units with a
POTENTIAL follow-on buy based on the user's requirement after a trial
period. A solicitation does not exist at this time. This surety is for
information and planning purposes only and does not constitute and
Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to be construed
as a commitment by the Government. The extent of allowable foreign
participation has not been determined. The Government reserves right to
limit such participation subsequently. Potential sources capable of
satisfying these requirements must demonstrate their interest in
participating in this survey by providing the following documentation:
Company Name, Complete Mailing Address, Phone/Fax Numbers, Cage Code,
Point of Contact, Phone Number, Size of Business, Statement of
Domestic of Foreign Ownership, and a copy of your DD Form 2345 -
Military Critical Technical Data Agreement (if available). Interested
sources must also provide documentation showing capabilities and
experience (brochures, literature, tooling lists, quality programs,
warranty programs, etc.) Failure to provide requested information may
result in your company not being placed on the initial source list
when/if a request generates. Large and small businesses are encouraged
to participate. All responses must be in writing and received no later
than thirty (30) days from the date of this publication. Questions or
responses to this requirement may be addressed to Vivian S. McGhee,
