Officer. This acquisition is for the procurement of 24 each additional
SINCGARS Airborne, Pilot Production Receiver/Transmitters. The Army
has contracted with ITT. Aerospace/Communicatons Division for a
SINCGARS Airborne Improvement Program. The objective of the program is
to develop an improved RT-1478/ARC-201 radio capable of satisfying the
following requirements provide position reporting capability packet
data switching capability, an automated interface into the Area Common
User System, and implement improved forward effort correction modes
for data operation. Thirty Pilot Production R/T's will be produced to
support initial qualification testing of the new R/T. These additional
R/T's are required to support initial integration into Army helicopter
platforms and subsequently to support the Task Force XXI Brigade
Experiment. The government does not possess configuration control of
drawings for the RT-1478D SINCGARS Airborne SIP R/T. No technical data
package will be available until the system development is complete.
Based on the above, this award will be awarded on a sole-source basis
to ITT Corporation Aerospace/Communications Division, Fort Wayne, IN.
No other sources will be considered except for subcontracting
