Requirement is four (4) underwater acoustic modems that can transmit and receive acoustic data in a temporally unstable, multipath fading underwater ocean environment. The acoustic modem shall consist of at least one transducer, acoustic processors and related hardware and power supply in a pressure housing operational in water depth up to 200 m. The processors shall be capable of transmitting, receiving and processing phase coherent acoustic signals (PSK, QPSK, QAM and related phase coherent signals) using adaptive joint optimal phase synchronization and channel equalization digital acoustic communication signal processing approaches. Specific requirements shall be included in Request for Proposals Number N00014-95-R-PL03. Prospective vendors should request in writing a copy of solicitation package N00014-95-R-PL03.
