J -- PROCUREMENT OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE MAINTENANCE FOR CONTROL DATA SYSTEMS X.400/X.500 E-MAIL SYSTEMS SOL ATD-124-TA-95/0648 POC Contact Tom Antoniel, (205)544-5087 CSC intends to negotiate only with Control Data Systems, Inc. (CDS) for a firm fixed priced base subcontract with two (2) option years for the annual software maintenance support of CDS proprietary SUN and EPIX based X.400/X.500 licensed software. The base agreement will cover the period of 1 June 1995 through 31 May 1996 and cover licensed products on eleven (11) Mail*Hub systems; six (6) SUN and five (5) EPIX platforms. The agreement shall also cover the hardware maintenance of six (6) SUNsparc 10 Model 40 (S10S-40-32-P46) systems and associated peripherals located at the following NASA centers: MAF, Michoud LA; LRC, Cleveland OH; JPL, Pasadena CA; SSC, Stennis MS; NASA HQ, Washington DC; and IVV, Fairmont VA. The agreement shall allow for the potential inclusion of the hardware and software maintenance of five (5) potential future SUNsparc 20 Model 50 (S20S-50-32-P69) based systems in exchange for EPIX platforms located at JSC, Houston TX (1); NASA HQ, Washington DC (1); and MSFC, Huntsville AL (3). Interested persons have 15 days from the date of publication of this synopsis to submit their qualifications/ capabilities (i.e.,technical specifi- cations, brochures, and price list with proposed discounts) in the critical areas mentioned above. Such qualifications/capabilities/and pricing (with discounts) will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received ''without the required information'' may be considered non-responsive to the synopsis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this synopsis. A determination by CSC not to compete this proposed procurement on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this synopsis, is solely within the discretion of CSC.
