One firm fixed price service contract will be awarded for furnishing
all labor, transportation and equipment to staff the Harry S. Truman
Visitor Center and Powerhouse Exhibit Area, conduct interpretive tours
and perform other interpretive duties for the 16 months covering three
fiscal years. The Contractor shall provide two Visitor Center
attendants, one of which shall act as an on-site supervisor to staff
the Visitor Center and provide Hooper House tours for the general
public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.(CDST) daily during the contract
period of July 1, 1995 through October 31, 1995 and March 1, 1996
through October 31, 1996. The Contractor will also provide one
attendant to staff the Powerhouse Exhibit area 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.,
Thursday through Monday during the period of July 1, 1995 through
September 15, 1995 and May 1, 1996 through September 15, 1996.
Additionally, the contractor shall provide a third and/or fourth
Visitor Center/Powerhouse Exhibit attendant as needed to assist with
scheduled tours (35 to 50 times per year - three hours per occurence).
The minimum qualifications for supervisory personnel shall consist of
a minimum of four years successfully completed supervisory experience
in a visitor center, public information, or educational setting as
well as a minimum of six months of successfully working in a public
relations/communications capacity with complex public relations issues
involving private citizens and Government Agencies. The minimum
qualifications for staffing requirements are a minimum of three months
of successfully completed public speaking, public information or tour
guide tasks. All personnel are required to wear uniforms while on duty
of a color and type approved by the Contracting Officer or his
representative. The Attendants at the Information Desk shall greet the
public, provide courteous and helpful information, answer the
telephone, take written messages, inventory, stock and distribute
brochures, inform visitors of available programs and park facilities,
direct visitors to park areas and otherwise assist the public. In
addition, miscellaneous duties include filling bird feeders, filing
documents and slides, maintaining audio visual equipment, preparation
of temporary exhibits and updating bulletin boards. Pre-Bid Conference
to be held on or about 23 May 1995, at the Harry S. Truman Visitor
Center near Warsaw, Missouri. Exact time/date and location will be
