Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow, CA, Contracting and Purchasing
Branch, intends to award a sole source procurement to Collins Avionics
and Communicatins Division on Basic Ordering Agreement N0038395G008G.
This requirement is for 40 EA MD-1321 Data Modems, NSN 5895013992507,
for the insertion into the AN/MSC-63A and provision of initial spares.
The following requirements apply: Each Modem will provide at least two
channels, independently configurable for diverse modulation, including
MIL-STD-188-110A Single, 16 and 39 tone, MIL-STD-188-110A wireline,
MIL-STD-188C 16-tone, MIL-STD-203 TADIL B Wireline, 8-Channel VFCT,
MD-1061 with FEC, MD-522 2-tone FSK, and MD-1142 T&FD, error detection
and correction (EDAC) and containing the capacity to remotely energize
transmission equipment upon detection of data (synch on data). Devices
will comply with EMI and TEMPEST specifications, fit in a RETMA std
19'' rack, consume no more than 1-3/4'' of vertical space and weight
not more than 12 lbs. Unit must be capable of configuration using the
GRiD 1500 series terminal equipment component to the system, without
modification, via EIA RS-232C protocol connection. Interface with
cryptographic equipment will use inverted-sense MIL-STD-188/114.
Responses must be received by this office within 30 days of the
publication of this notice. If no affirmative written responses are
received, a contract will be awarded to the above referenced contractor
