REPUBLIC OF KOREA: ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AND MATERIALS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.95.115. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: Republic Of Korea. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2): 2. Agency responsible: Industrial Advancement Administration. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Electrical appliances and materials. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Revision of the ``Guidelines for the Implementation of the Technical Criteria due to Voltage Boost to 220V''. 6. Description of content: Under the current Guidelines, manufactures and imports of 110/220V compatible electrical appliances and components have been prohibited. Major contents of the proposed Guidelines are as follows: 1. The manufactures and imports of all electrical appliances and components for which the voltage is free voltage covering 80 to 260V and the method of controlling the power supply is SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) will be allowed. 2. The manufactures and imports of the following five electrical appliances and components for which the voltage is 110/220V compatible will be allowed: Electric pumps, monitors, printers, television receiver boosters, electric noise suppressors. 3. The manufactures and imports for the following 25 electrical appliances and components for which the voltage is either 110V or 220V will be allowed: Electric grinders, electric sanders, electric drills, electric planners, electric saws, electric screwdrivers, other electric power tools, commutator motors, electric exhausters for briquet gas, DC power supply units, aquarium heaters, electric hair clippers, electric massagers, electric permanent wave heaters, electric moxibustion apparati, electric blankets, electric overblankets, electric floor cushions, electric underblankets, electric heating floorsheets, electric hair dryers, electric toothbrushes. 7.
