Title: Proposal for a European Parliament and Council Directive on Energy Efficiency Requirements for Household Electric Refrigerators, Freezers and Their Combination (number of pages of the notified document: 6). 6. Description of content: Electric domestic refrigeration appliances are classified in categories according to their performance. For each category maximum consumption limits are set. All appliances must consume less than the limit to be sold in the Community after the entry into force. 7. Objective and rationale: Harmonization of national standards to avoid barriers to trade. In addition contribution to reduction of electricity consumption in the Community and the associated reducton of CO2 emissions. 8.
