NREL anticipates issuing Request For Bids (RFB) No. RAB-5-15644 on or about Mid-Late June 1995, for bids from firms who have interest and experience in costruction of scientific and/or engineering research facilities/laboratories. Project location is on the NREL South Table Mountain permanent site in Golden, Colorado. The project consists of outfitting approximately 4,000 square feet of test area laboratories within the NREL Outdoor Test Facility building. The work includes, but is not limited to: 1) Installation of mechanical and electrical utility stations; 2) Installation of a chemical fume; 3) Upgrading of the HVAC system; 4) Upgrading of the electrical system; and 5) Coordination of the installation of Government-Furnished laboratory casework. Offerors responding to this solicitation shall met the minimum following qualifications: 1) Must have a current insurance EMR rating of 1.0 or less at the time of bidding; 2) Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience during the past ten (10) years in the construction of scientific and/or engineering research facilities/laboratories greater than $200,000; 3) Proposed project manager and Superintendent must each have a minimum of five (5) years experience in construction of laboratory type facilities; 4) Must perform at least twenty percent (20%) of the work with its own organization; and 5) Must provide a minimum of three (3) references from previous clients for scientific and/or engineering research facility/laboratory construction. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.
