COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 17,1995 PSA#1348ENTREPRENEURIAL WORKSHOP PARTICIPATION: The U.S. Arms Control and
Disarmament Agency (ACDA), in conjunction with the Department of Energy
(DOE) and the Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy (MINATOM) will be
conducting the Fourth Entrepreneurial Workshop on Defense Technology
Conversion at the NINATOM Training Center, Moscow, Russia, June 5 - 16,
1995. Ten MINATOM technologies are (1) Superplastic roll forming, (2)
High-speed infrared camera, (3) Macromolecular modeling for
pharmaceutical applications, (4) Explosive cutting of large metal
structures, (5) Oil and gas exploration, (6) Supercomputing software
development, (7) Synthetic nanodiamonds, (8) Spherolite (flyash) based
high temperature rigid insulation materials, (9) Medical Accelerator,
and (10) Nuclear material handling criticality computations. The case
studies will be facilitated by an entrepreneurial, and business
oriented faculty, with teams consisting of Russian weapons scientist
associated with the specific projects. U.S. National Laboratory
scientist with expertise in those technology areas, and U.S. industry
representatives with interest, and expertise to contribute. Each case
study will last approximately one week with industry participation
providing realism/business advise. U.S. busineses with capabilities
matching the Russian technology areas will be invited to participate.
Participation will be at company expense. Interested company are
