The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment, Washington (FISCNORDETWASH) has a requirement in support of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Detachment (PESO), Annapolis, MD for an armature machine, universal. This multi-purpose armature machine is to be used to perform truing and finishing cuts, grinding, polishing, chamfering, TIG welding of wires and MICA undercutting of commutators in one setting on motor and generator armatures up to 500 KW. This machine shall be capable of servicing D.C. motor and generator armatures and also be capable of grinding journals and automatically undercutting commutators. It should have a steel frame machine bed with hardened ways and have a motor driven tailstock of steel weldment able to accommodate armatures having extended shafts and support automatic undercutting equipment. It should also contain a heavy duty carriage with separate powered rapid transverse and operating drives for longitudinal movement. Delivery is to be FOB destination Bremerton, WA.
