Officer, (301) 435-0366. It is the intent of the National Heart, Lung,
and Blood Institute to issue Invitation for Bid Number
NHLBI-HL-P-95-107 to purchase a Intravascular Ultrasound System, with
the following minimum specifications: (1) Frequency of operation -
approximately 10, 20 and 30 MHz. (2) Capable of coronary, peripheral
and intracardiac clinical applications. (3) Automatic pullback system
must be available. (4) Capable of simultaneously displaying fluoro and
ultrasound pictures on the same screen. (5) Capable of displaying ECG
and pressure waves. (6) Establishes pre-determined default parameters
at set-up. (7) Utilizes the smallest imaging catheters possible i.e
3.0 French or smaller. (8) Capable of performing measurements from the
video playback (off-line). (9) Capable of measuring distance, area, %
stenosis by area and % stenosis by diameter. (10) Handheld catheter
motor drive has on/off control. (11) System includes high resolution
video monitor, super VHS video cassette recorder and page printer. (12)
Imaging Catheters: (a) 3.0 French or smaller, 25 Each and (b) 3.5 to
3.1 French, 25 Each. (13) Provide 24 hours of training of the
intravascular ultrasound system for up to 10 NHLBI, LAMS employees.
(14) Provide a full service maintenance agreement of the intravascular
ultrasound system for a twelve (12) month period to begin upon
expiration of the warranty period. The full service maintenance
agreement shall include: (a) a minimum of two (2) preventive
maintenance inspections per twelve (12) period, (b) Unlimited per-call
repairs, (c) No additional charge for parts, labor, or travel, and (d)
One year update on all software. It is anticipated that Invitation for
Bid (IFB) Number NHLBI-HL-P- 95-107, will be issued on or about May
30, 1995. Copies of the IFB may be obtained by writing to the National
