Oliver, Contracting Officer at (401) 841-2442 X281 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, RI intends to procure one each of the following items by a Firm Fixed Price (Supply) contract on a Brand Name or Equal basis: 0001 Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Optical Jukebox with four(4) drives, P/N RW536-ZF; 0002 Optical Software, P/N QL-OUEA9-AA. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: The items shall meet the following minimum specifications - shall provide 5.25 inch form factor for optical drives/media; shall be 100% plug compatible with an existing DEC HSJ40 I/O controller or provide equivalent connectivity; shall be 100% compatible with the existing VAXcluster computer system, the OpenVMS VAX (V6.1) operating system, and all associated DEC standard software; each delivered subsystem shall be able to be installed and made functional without modifying or patching or in any way changing the operating system; shall provide support for multi-density 5.25 inch optical drives with a minimum formatted capacity of 600 MBytes and up to at least 1.2 GBytes; shall support both Write-once (WORM) media and rewritable optical media; shall conform to the following standards: ECMA 184 and ISO/ IEC DIS 13549 (draft); shall provide the following data transfer rates: Reads (sustained) - at least 1.6 Mbytes/second, Writes (sustained, verification) - at least 0.53 MBytes/second, Writes (sustained, no verification) - at least 0.8 MBytes/second; shall provide automated access to at least 120 GBytes of optical storage utilizing no more than four(4) drives; shall take no more that one port for each drive and one port for the robotics; ALL required cables and connectors shall be included to connect the optical drives and robotics to the SCSI I/O controllers.
