The term of the contract will be a 12 month period and the work includes, but is not limited to, providing labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment and transportation to perform the towin and recovery of various vehicles and equipment 56,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) or les. SIC Code 7549 applies. The Government may make multiple awards under this solicitation. The bid schedule will include two separate lots, one for vehicles up to 8,500 pounds GVW and one for vehicles over 8,500 but less than 56,000 pounds GVW. Bidders may submit offers on one or both lots. The contract includes option provisions to extend the term in subsequent years. The Government will not issue a synopsis when exercising the option(s). The total term of the contract, including all options, will be 60 months. If the Government does no award a follow-on contract in time, the Government may require the Contractor to continue performance for a period up to six months beyond the 60 months. This contract will replace a contract for similar services awarded in 1988 for the estimated amount of $148,008.50 per year. We will include information about the contract and the incumbent contractor (e.g., award date and amount, value of last option exercised, etc.) with the solicitation package. We do not require requests under the Freedom of Information Act to provide this general information.
