This solicitation is being issued on an unrestricted basis. Bid packages will be available two weeks after this notice appears in the Commerce Business Daily, to general contractors capable of completing the work required under this solicitation. Other firms desiring copies of the plans and specifications may purchase same directrly from the printer at a cost of approximately $71.31 plus applicable sales tax per set, at Providence Blueprint Co Inc, 681 Westminister Street, Providence, RI 02903 401/272-9060. The construction cost range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Bid documents are available for inspection at the following locations, as a minimum, without charge: U.S. Property and Fiscal Office for Rhode Island, Procurement Division, 330 Camp Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02906-1954, and Rhode Island Air National Guard Base, Civil Engineering Building, 2 Minuteman Way North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852-7546. This office will provide up to two sets to qualified general contractors. However, the quantity of bid packages is limited. When the on-hand supply is exhausted, contractors will have to purchase the packages if they so desire to acquire a set. Subcontractors and drawings at the locations stated above, or to purchase the documents at the above stated location. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all equipment, labor and materials necessary for the construction of Project Number TWLR001362 consisting of a 19,800 SF New Base Engineer Maintenance Facility housing all related maintenance shops and supporting administrative areas; demolition and legal off-site disposal of four trailers and one Quonset Hut; construction of a new storm drainage system; site work including utilities, electrical, storm, sanitary, natural gas, communications, regarding, retaining walls, and parking areas. The site is located at the Rhode Island Air National Guard Base, Quonset State Airport, North Kingstown, Rhode Island. In addition to the Base Bid work stated above, the following Additive Bid Items (ABIs) are included: (1) ABI #1 - Provide exterior wall Type ``A'' on north wall of covered storage area (room 34); (2) ABI #2 - Provide finish carpentry, shelving, metal storage units, woven wire partitions, lockers, utility sink, tack and writing boards, and 4'' concrete pad; (3) ABI #3 - Provide an insulated skylight system; and (4) ABI #4 Provide a stone masonry retaining wall in lieu of the concrete retaining wall. All work shall be bid as one job. The solicitation will be issued no sooner than two weeks after the date this announcement appears in the Commerce Business Daily.
