779-4064 The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Jacksonville intends to
negotiate on a sole source basis with Motorola, Inc. for upgrade of the
existing fire alarm system onboard the Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
The fire alarm system is integrated as part of the base security
system. The fire alarm system is being upgraded from a ''hard wire'' to
a ''radio type''. The existing system is comprised of Motorola hardware
and software. This requirement consists of installation and training
required to upgrade the existing system. The upgrade will involve
upgrading existing CGC-11 Central to IGC/DMACS for Windows; data
collection; data base creation; Moscad/Intrac Translator Program;
System Integration. The system will require two stand-alone central
computers which shall consist of the following products: System central
station and software; computer interface unit; 80 column dot-matrix
printers; system video display 17'' VGA color monitor; audible alarm
device and electronic digital clock. Interested firms are invited to
submit a response within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication
of this notice to submit their qualifications/capabilities to meet the
requirements, along with a request for a solicitation. Oral
communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A
determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract
on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this
notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22
