Device. Survivability Directorate, Kathleen Swift, Clothing Designer,
(508) 651-5451. Commercially available, non-developmental sources are
being sought. The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command is conducting a
Market Survey to identify potential suppliers/manufactureres of Life
Vests and Flotation Devices. It should keep the wearer upright so the
face remains above water if he is unconscious. There needs to be enough
buoyancy to keep a soldier with all his gear afloat. This may total up
to 273 pounds. The vest shall be inherently buoyant. Inflatable
devices are not sought at this time. Interested firms must submit
within 15 days following the publication of this synopsis, information
on their products. This should include, at a minimum, an item
description which details the material description, illustrations with
corresponding descriptive information, previous related experience,
personnel resumes, list of facilities, and any other specific
information which the firm believes demonstrates its ability to perform
the proposed work. In addition, include whether the firm is a small
business, woman owned or socially and economically disadvantaged. For
the purpose of this requirement, any concern with less than 500
employees is considered a small business. This notice is for
