TB 8/1/3/95-96 DUE 062895 POC Tel (267) 302050 FAX (267) 302051 S7389 consultancy on the formulation of an Implementation plan for Botswana National Conservation Strategy (ncs) begin quote tenders are invited from suitably qualified consultancy firms to carry out a consultancy on the formulation of an Implementation plan for Botswana National Conservation Strategy (ncs) the firms should have the capacity and experience to undertake natural resources planning for sustainable Development or related field, preferably in a developing country the consultancy, which will last 24 man- months, will entail the following I) define in specific terms and on the basis of the nation's environment and Conservation policies, the strategic measures of the ncs which should affect policy formulation and Implementation in the rest of Government; II) articulate and describe integrated multi-sectoral Conservation and Development programmes/projects (imcdp) which are economically and ecologically sustainable and include an evaluation and monitoring component as a means of implementing the ncs in five suitable areas of different parts of the country; III) define and describe the costs in financial and manpower terms and the necessary institutional arrangements to implement the projects; IV) describe a monitoring and evaluation process for the continued assessment and review of the projects; V) encourage economic diversification through the formulation and description of different measures to diversify Botswana's Economy by the sustainable use of the natural resources base the consultancy will identify natural resources which have significant potential to create employment and incomes particularly in areas where there are no formal employment opportunities and some resources have been seriously depleted and livelihoods and social structures undermined end quote.
