Design development will include all design decisions of preliminary plans through 35% working drawings with option to negotiate and award a contract for preparation of the remaining 65% of working drawings and specifications and construction period services. The project will expand the first floor of Building 100 to provide site prep for a linear accelerator, all associated equipment, and support functions. The expansion will include a treatment room and immediate support, adjacent support area for molds and planning simulation area, waiting/reception area, and doctor's office area with exam rooms, offices, and consultation room. The following criteria will be used for selection: 1) Professional qualifications necessary to satisfy performance of a wide range of services by at least one person in the disciplines of mechanical, architectural, electrical, and Radiation Physics; 2) Specialized experience in site preparation for Radiology Equipment; 3) Past Performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedule; 4) Capacity to accomplish work in the required time; 5) Location of firm in relation to the VAMC Columbia, SC. The estimated construction range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. A/E will be required to provide evidence of professional liability insurance of $1,000,000. All interested firms shall submit appropriate data in numbered Note 24 no late than 6/23/95. This is not a request for proposal.
