Y -- PREQUALIFICATION STATEMENTS ARE SOLICITED FROM CONTRACTORS INTERESTED IN BEING PLACED ON THE PREQUALIFIED CONTRACTORS LIST FOR REMOVING, SUPPLYING AND INSTALLING AN HVAC SYSTEM AT THE MID-ISLAND MAIL PROCESSING FACILITY Sol 332495-95-A-0169. This is a Solicitation to prequalify firms to remove and replace the existing aquifer air conditioning system, part of the heating system and remove the desiccant system from the Mid-Island Mail Processing Facility located at 160 Duryea Road, Melville, New York 11747-8000. The facility is approximately 258,000 square feet, with an estimated cost range of $1,200,000.00 to $1,600,000. Planned construction starting date is 100195. Interested firms are to submit their Prequalification Statements to the New York Facilities Service Office, Attn: Joseph C. Dimino, 2 Hudson Place - 5th Floor, Hoboken, NJ 07030-5502. The Statements will be evaluated by the contractig officer's staff. Primary factors that will be considered are: 1) construction experience with removal and replacement of large HVAC systems in occupied facilities and the ability to maintain heating and air conditioning during construction in the form of a minimum of two projects successfully completed of comparable size and complexity, or larger, within the last 5 years. This should include names, and telephone number of references, such as owners; 2) Financial stability and bonding capacity in the form of latest current financial statement(s) Names, Address of Bonding Company, including Bonding capacity; 3) Record of on-time project completion, in the form of project schedules of two previous projects successfully completed; 4) Project Management capability in the form of names, and credentials of key project management personnel; 5) company organization, in the form of an organizational chart; 6) Minority participation and commitment,in the form of your firm's minority utilization goals for this project; 7) Company safety program, in the form of your safety record in the past five years; 8) Geographic location of your firm. Applicants will be evaluted by a USPS committee, and all firms will be advised within 60 days of closing of this Notice of Intent as to prequalification status. Firms selected as being the most qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. Following evaluation, Plans and Specifications will be available on or about August 7, 1995. Interested firms that meet the minimum criteria stated above may submit their Contractor Prequalification Statement. Contractor Prequalification Statements will not be returned.
