COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 22,1995 PSA#1351Federal Bureau of Investigation, Room 6875 JEH-FBI Building, 10th &
Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535 58 -- INTENSIFIED CHARGED COUPLED DEVICE (ICCD) CAMERAS SOL RFP-6834
POC Charles A. Weschler, Contract Specialist, (202) 324-2263. The
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has a requirement for an
indefinite quantity of B. E. Meyers (BEM), Model 5003, ICCD cameras.
The Model 5003, ICCD camera is a fully gated day/night CCTV camera
which uses a generation 3, 18 millimeter photocathode diameter image
intensifier assembly optically coupled to a 1/2 inch frame transfer
charged coupled chip. The Model 5003 is the only commercially off the
shelf ICCD camera, known to the FBI, that is capable of operating in
both extremely bright daylight and extremely low light level conditions
while automatically compensating internally to eliminate reflected
infrared glare during extreme daylight conditions, without the
necessity of using an auto-iris objective lens and internal automatic
focus compensating optics. The FBI intends to negotiate a multi-year
indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity type contract, on a sole
source basis with B. E. Meyers, Redmond, Washington. The guaranteed
minimum quantity to be ordered will be ten (10) units, with an
anticipated maximum quantity of 500 units over the life of the
contract. Responsible sources may submit an offer within forty-five
(45) days from the date of this annoucement referencing RFP-6834,
showing proof of their ability to meet this requirement. This is not a
developmental effort. Any response must be based on immediately
available, commercially off the shelf equipment, and must include
specifications which fully describe all components and capabilities of
the item being offered along with pricing information. A sample unit
will be required at time of proposal submission. The sample unit will
be returned if not selected. If selected, the sample unit will be
retained by the FBI as the first deliverable. See Note 22. (0138) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0260 19950519\58-0006.SOL)
